May Update: SIP time!

We hope everyone is doing well and Sheltering In Place, enjoying your homemade wines and cheeses!  Curds and Wine will remain closed through the end of May (at least).  Most of you have been very kind and supportive, and we very much appreciate it! 

We are still fulfilling online orders - check out our online catalog if you have not already!  We do not have our wine kits available for sale through the website, however, as it is difficult to keep the inventory accurate since we often hold wine kits for people to start later.  If you are interested in purchasing a wine kit to make off site, please contact us and we can send you a current list of inventory.

Homemade Wine Competitions Update

As you can imagine, pretty much everything is cancelled for 2020.  San Diego County Fair, Orange County Fair, and California State Fair are all cancelled for 2020.  Wines had already been submitted for the Winemaker Magazine Home Wine competition, and they are planning to judge wines at the end of June (hopefully) with an online awards announcement.  You can still submit wines for this competition through June 1st, though we are not shipping any more out of the shop - but if you need a shipping box let us know and we'll help you out.  Please do list us as your U-Vint if you made wine on site with us!  We will pass on any links and post award information on our website as well as our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts. 

Winemaking on Site at Curds and Wine on Hold

If you currently have wine on site, we appreciate your patience for a few more weeks. We will get in touch with you to arrange for follow-up steps.  Most of you know my background is as a scientist, and this virus should not be taken lightly. There is a very good reason most of the world has shut down, and we still have a long while before things will even begin to be like they were. We will not be making wine on site for several months, if we can even resume it this year.
